These stock image ring size charts feature different measurements for certain sizes – it’s hard to say which would be more accurate depending on a number of factors, including the width of the band and where the ring sits on your finger. The differences in measurements may seem slight (they’re often off by under a millimeter), but that means that there is no actual size ring size chart you can trust – getting a correct ring size requires the expertise of a professional! If you consult just two different ring charts, what you’ll find is that the numbers are often different – using one chart may tell you that your size is closer to a 6 while another site may tell you that you should wear a 5.5. The ring had to be returned to the manufacturer and was completely remade, as downsizing that ring to the proper size would have compromised the structural integrity and design of the piece. In one case, we saw a client who used a printable chart and ordered a ring that was 4 sizes too big. We’ve had a number of clients who used online resources or ring size coasters to estimate their size or their partner’s size, only to get wildly inaccurate results. Using a printable ring sizing chart may seem like a perfect, easy solution to figuring out your partner’s ring size, but unfortunately, it’s just not that accurate.
